Towns of Limburg (Netherlands)

Limburg is the most southerly province of the Netherlands and has a striking, elongated shape. On both sides it borders other countries: Germany to the east and Belgium to the west. Its capital is Maastricht, in the far south, which is also the largest city. On this map you learn to place the towns of Limburg in the right spot — from Venlo and Venray in the north to Heerlen, Kerkrade and Sittard in the south.

Limburg is different from the rest of the Netherlands: in the south, around Maastricht and Heerlen, you find hills instead of flat land — it is the only part of the country with real hills. The river Maas flows through the province. The list also includes Weert, Roermond (known for its large outlet centre), Geleen, Brunssum, Hoensbroek, Gennep and the Venlo districts Tegelen and Blerick, plus Horst.

Hop in the helicopter and find every town in Limburg at your own pace — a fun, free way for kids and grown-ups to master the map of Limburg.
