πΊοΈ Our roadmap: what we're still building
29 May 2026
What is a roadmap? A roadmap is our "map for the future": an overview of the things we plan to add, roughly in order. It's not a hard promise β plans can shift or change based on what players, parents and teachers tell us β but this is what we're working on now.
Toponauts grows every week. Here's what's on the planning, always with the same idea: fun to do and you really learn something from it.
- β΅ Build out Sailing β shifting wind, hoisting/lowering the sail, more harbours and a sailing race. Educational: coastal topography, wind direction/compass and cause and effect.
- π Around the world in 80 days β a journey from city to city with little puzzles along the way. Educational: world geography, routes and distances, and the order of countries and cities across the globe.
- βοΈ Plane mode β flying a passenger plane from airport to airport. Educational: big cities and airports, country names and how far places lie apart.
- π¨ Make your own avatar β put together your own little pilot. Educational: less topo, more fun and ownership β kids keep practising longer and more often.
- ποΈ River missions β following a river for a stretch instead of flying to one point ("the news wants footage of the Meuse"). Educational: rivers run from somewhere to somewhere β you learn their course, not just their name.
Got an idea yourself? The game has a "π¬ Idea or bug" button β we read everything that comes in there. A big part of what Toponauts can do today started as a tip from a player, parent or teacher.
