๐ฏ Find the whole area, not just a dot
Finding a city is easy: fly to the dot. But how do you find a whole sea, a mountain range or a lake? They're not dots โ they're big areas. Toponauts now has a clever answer. ๐ฏ
๐บ๏ธ Areas, not points
Every sea, lake, region and mountain range now has its own real outline stored in the game. Instead of asking "are you close to the middle?", Toponauts asks "are you inside the shape?" The instant you cross the coastline of the Mediterranean or the edge of the Alps, you've found it.
๐งฎ The clever trick
Computers check this with a neat idea called point-in-polygon: draw an imaginary line from your helicopter out to the edge of the world and count how many times it crosses the border of the shape. An odd number of crossings means you're inside; an even number means you're outside. Simple, fast, and it works for any wobbly coastline!
๐ Even oceans with many pieces
Some oceans, like the Atlantic and the Pacific, are split across the globe into several pieces. The game now checks all the pieces at once, so you can find the Pacific whether you're near Japan or near Chile.
๐ Why it's better for learning
Flying into a place feels more real than tapping a dot. You experience how big the Sahara is, how long the Andes stretch, how the North Sea hugs the coast. That sense of size and place is exactly what sticks in your memory.
๐ How to play
Just play any map with seas, lakes, regions or mountains. On easy levels the outline is shown; on harder levels it fades, so you fly on what you know. Find the whole world โ one area at a time! ๐ฏ๐
