New in Toponauts: practice mode Capitals of the Netherlands

Good news for kids practising topography and for parents and teachers looking for a fun way to make knowledge stick: Toponauts has a new practice mode, Capitals of the Netherlands. In this mode a child gets a task like: fly to the capital of Drenthe. The idea is then to fly to the right city yourself. The city's name stays hidden along the way, so kids can't simply read off the answer but really have to think and remember.

Why linking province and capital matters

At school kids don't just learn separate place names, but also connections within the map of the Netherlands. It's valuable to know that a province doesn't stand alone, but also has a capital that belongs to it. That linking of knowledge is exactly what makes topography stronger: not only where is it?, but also what goes with what?.
