Race together with classmates

Topo is even more fun together. In race mode you create a race and share a short code with your friends or classmates — they only have to type in that code.

Everyone flies to the same places on their own screen, and on the live scoreboard you watch each other creep ahead. The faster and more accurately you find them, the more points you grab.

A perfect way to end a topo lesson: five minutes of fierce racing through the Netherlands or the world. Classroom tip: let the winner pick the list for the next round.

Why this is educational: under a little (friendly) time pressure you really have to find places from memory — a much more active form of review than quietly practising. And because everyone gets the same places, you immediately see what you didn't yet know; those are exactly the spots you'll remember best afterwards.
